Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Locator vrs Spatial

Dear Community,

Using only Locator features ie. we run Oracle Standard Edition 10g R2, is it permissable to make use of SDO_3GL to create our own spatial functions?

If yes, can

scripts that use SDO_3GL can be used to cover missing functionality in Locator (Oracle 10g) such as AREA and LENGTH ( now included in Oracle 11g)?
