Dear All,

I 'he installed Oracle64B on a computer running Windows 2008 Standard.

I've created listener  service and, with the Oradim the services for starting and shuting down the instance.

After that I've copyed a standby database and tried to mount and activate it.

I've seted the oracle_home and oracle_sid and tryed to start up in  nomount the standby database.

I've obtained the following message:

Connected.
SQL> conn /as sysdba
Connected to an idle instance.
SQL> startup nomount
ORA-10997: another startup/shutdown operation of this instance inprogress
ORA-09968: unable to lock file

I 've tryed to shut down but I got:

Howdy, Stranger!
