UMS - Custom Message Display Services - Questions

Hello All,

I am working on an SR where the customer has asked the following:

"Bookshelf states that it is possible to write and use a custom message display service. Is there documentation on how to write such a service?

Are there examples on what functionality can be gained by using a custom message display service? "

Does anyone have any information that would be helpful to this query. There is little on knowledge.
