Database Restart

Hi all,

I have a query and need your expert opinion for it. we have an issue in our application server, that hung after a couple of hrs on daily basis and the application administrator restart the Application server services as work around.

now he is forcing the DBA to restart the database  after each time they restart Application server.

Is it the  correct way of doing the thing , i don't think so that a database restart is required after application server restart.
