Requirements Gathering for Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) configuration.

Our team is currently gathering requirements in preparation for a PeopleSoft Financials / Supply Chain upgrade to 9.1.  One critical aspect of the upgrade will be designing future state workflow for Requisitions and Purchase Orders.  Currently our organization utilizes the Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) in its PeopleSoft 8.9 environment for eProcurement Requisitions.  Workflow is tied to Fiscal and Item Category criteria. We would like to offer end users more options for workflow approval and we feel the AWE will allow us to accomplish this. 

 

Due to unique business activities across 16 Business Units, it may be difficult to accurately capture the workflow needs from each entity. We would like to knoif anyone would be willing to share best practices or tips and techniques to effectively capture work flow requirements.
