Multinode environment upgrade to 12.1.3

After my first try to upgrade an 11.5.10.2 EBS to 12.1.3 I'm planning the next shot: Test the upgrade of a multinode environment. My question is what would be easier, better, etc. upgrade each node o upgrade the main one and then recreate the multinode environment by cloning and re-configuring?.
