Wish to change the item name of mtl_system_items_b from Back-end. What are the possible consequences

Hi all

I have requirement to change the item name (segment1 column of mtl_system_items_b table) in Item master

As I understand, all transactions in EBS use inventory_item_id for item tracking.

Wish to know if any major -ve consequence can happen due to this?

Also, I wish to change the item category along with the above updation which is possible thru Item Import Interface.
