Testing faults / heartbeat

HI
Customer is asking me if there is a way to test a hardware fault (pull a power supply) and then see that it works, without generating a case ?.
They would like to do some tests after the ASR exadata setup, but would like to notify support that it is just a test. Can this be done.

Another question is if ASR is polling the active assets from time to time. If I go and unplug the network cable will ASR see this ?
