Default Depreciation information for Equipment records in E9.0

Hi

We are using both Fixed Assets (FA) and Equipment records in E9.0 and do require specific information on default depreciation codes setup for equipment records. We have a business scenario where

-Parent record is both asset and equipment

-Child records are only equipments and not assets.

We have defined the depreciation information only for Parent , in this specific case.  Let us assume that no depreciation information is defined or added for child records. When we run periodic depreciation information for the parent, what would be the impact on its child records ?.Since no depreciation information is attached to the child record, will the system throw error message ?  will it  process that child record ?
