Generate Massallocation Journals

Disclaimer: I am not a GL user.  I am the technical guy who tries to find answers and fix problems for the functional users.

I have a new GL super user who is running the Generate Massallocation Journal process.  They are complaining about the LOV they have to scroll thru in order to find the correct batch name to process.  They are wanting the "old" batches deleted from the list.

I have a feeling the batch names exist because they have never been processed. 

.

Am I correct in my feeling or is there a way to delete the batch names and prevent them from appearing in the LOV?
