Effect on Oracle software and filesystem on OS Kernel Upgradation
Hi,
In our production system there is an Operating system cluster with 2 nodes. The nodes each at a time on accesses the SAN where the oracle 10g database installed and database structure (datafiles, etc) resides. There is an urgent requirement of kernel upgradation in one of these operating system nodes to fix a bug. Currently our 10g (10.2.0.4) database is running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 OS of kernel version 2.6.18-194.el5 which would be upgraded to kernel version 2.6.18-274.el5 . Therefore please suggest me if there would be any affect on the database due to that or any type of change required on our database due to pre or post kernel upgradation (i.e. if there is any need for database patch upgrade after kernel is upgraded, etc). We are eagerly waiting for your suggestion.
