Online Installable patch for RAC

Hi
- How does the Olnine patching work in RAC environment ?
- How does  the linking of libraries happen in online patch ?
- Is change made by the online patch  persistent after shutdown ? What about the entry of the patch in the local inventory , if  changes are not permanent ( ONLY in memory )
- Is it same as hot patch or it use different mechanism ?
