Why RAC should be implemented on 11gR2 instead of 10gR2 on unix?

Client is trying to implement RAC on 10.2.0.5 on unix itanium but our team as well as Oracle is recommending to defer this implementation till database uprgade to 11gR2. The reasons for this recommendation is that we will have less component to upgrade if we do it after 11g upgrade. I will really appreciate if you can give me some extra reasons why we should upgrade database defore RAC implementation?
