EBS DB clone only not applicaiton cloning

Dear all,

 

 

I am a oracle core DBA, I have one requested from developer Clone the oracle EBS DB only not the application.

 

Is it same process like clone normal DB like backup the DBF file & etc, create the control file in target and restore the DBF files in target?

 

Why because if I clone the DB only APP schema also clone right, this schema have the all EBS app information, it will not match in target system.

 

It’s possible to clone EBS DB only with out application Clone?
