Change hostname in Oracle database?
Hi!
The setup:
RHEL6 (server not part in cluster yet)
Oracle 11.2.0.2
My sys admin have created a alias for the hostname db01 -> tmpprod01
But when I installed I did not set ORACLE_HOSTNAME to the alias. So when querying v$instance, it reports back db01 as hostname.
The server will be moved in to a RHEL cluster in the future, and I am quite sure that Oracle must think its running on the alias (tmpprod01).
Is it possible to change the hostname in Oracle to the alias? Or maybe I dont have to?
Regards
U
