Non Global Zone will not detach

When I try to do "zoneadm -z <zonename> detach"I get an error stating that "/export/Zones/<zonename>/dev/.devfsadm_synch_door" is mounted.
When I cd to the .../dev directory there is no .devfsadm_sync_door there.
I have seen articles that umount -f will unmount it.
I get a response that it is not in the mnttab and can't be unmounted.
