control_file_record_keep_time and retention policy
Hi,
I know CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME should set to a higher value than the retention policy, and If the CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME is less than the retention policy then it may overwrite reusable records prior to obsoleting them in the RMAN metadata.
But IF CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME is lower then retention policy , then can we recover a database ?
means CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME is 7 days and retention policy is 15 days.
we need to restore/recover data from 12th day, then can we perform recover and how ?
I have a little bit thought in my mind that we can again register that backup set in RMAN and then perform recover but i am not sure about this.
