Standby database setup - high performance

Hi,

I need to setup the standby database for my production 11g database. I heard the additional license is required to use Data Guard other than the regular enterprise edition license. I need this standby database when there is any issue with the primary and no one will be accessing that in between. Can I have any good documentation ( steps) to create standby database ( high performance) ? I would like to restore that from RMAN backup ( tape backup).
