Fixed Asset Register for a Company

We have significant spend on fixed assets for one of our companies. We have managed this in excel until now but now want to set up a fixed asset module for this company. We have about 3000 assets in about 15 asset categories.

Greatly appreciate if someone can tell me how much time / resource it would take to set one up? And point me to a setup/configuration document for this.
