Creating Accounting Events - No data reflected in output file

Does anyone know what the possible issues could be when a user creates accounting events and nothing is reflected on the output file? Capitalized interest was distributed without exceptions. The next step was to create accounting events but no data is reflected in the output file. When looking at cost distributions for the interest I noticed a debit and a credit. Did the user forego creating the accounting events by interfacing the interest to the ledger first? I don't see any accounting events created on the dates that the process was run.
