Maintenance Wizard , Upgrade to 12.1.1 Category. 9-Apply DBA CUP and related patches (Required)

Hi,

I'm at Step 9 in the Maintenance Wizard category "upgrade to 12.1.1"

And looking at the readme for patch 9179588 under the Patch Application Instructions it says that

When directed to apply AD 12.1.1 upgrade driver in chapter 3 of the Applications Upgrade guide, perform the following steps instead

Merge patches 9179588, 9477107 and 7461070

Apply the merged patch driver

Am I correct in assuming that these patches will need to be applied to a 12.1.1 file system installation?

This is not the actual upgrade?

The actual upgrade is when I apply 7303029 in pre-install mode and then run the merged patch that gets created?
