802.3ad link aggregation

 I am having issues creating a 4 port 802.3ad bond. OS is OEL 5.5. In my /etc/modprobe.conf I've tried setting the bonding mode to 4 and 802.3ad. After both restarting network and rebooting /proc/net/bonding/bond1 shows the bond is in fault tolerance mode (active-backup). The switch configuration has been verified. Has anyone ever run into a similar issue? Note: we are also using a second bond interface as an active-backup (mode=1). I am thinking additional configuration is needed to enable two bonding modes at the same time, but not sure what that configuration is.
