How to order values in a Descriptive Flexfield value set

I have created a DFF segment using an value set that is an independent validation type with a format type of char.  I would like the values to appear in an order that I chose rather than alphabetical.  Is there any way to accomplish this other than using a table?

I'm posting this discussion to Order management as this is the EBS module I'm creating the flexfield in - however it may need to be moved to a more appropriate forum.
