Can Favorite link to a page show the website I reference from a URL on this page ?

I have a page is created in Webcenter Spaces which in turn has a link to a URL (this can be an external or internal website).
I cccess this page and set the 'Add to favorites' link.
When this link is then selected from the Favorites drop down list, the WebCenter page is displayed and not the website referenced by the URL on this page.
Is this expected behaviour?
