Create AR Customers from AP Suppliers

Hi, folks.

Now that AP is using the TCA, I expect to be able to search for an AP Supplier on the AR Customer form and create them as customers, but I can't.  When I search for either a supplier name or even a registry ID, nothing results.  Is there a set up that I've missed that allows this functionality?  Is there an easier way to create customers from suppliers (or HR employees for that matter)?  We are on R12.1.3.
