Budget for capital projects in GL over several years

Hi

Is it possible to setup a Budget, either GL or via OPSF(i), so that it runs on Asset and Liability codes for more than one financial year?

Our client has decided to move from running capital in Projects to recording capital directly in GL. When it was run in Projects there was no budgeting in GL for capital but now there is a requirement. In year budgets are obviously possible, we currently do these for Revenue using OPSF(i), but we don't see how we can do a budget to run over several years. Is it possible?
