Replacement Asset Field Functionality

Hi All,

We would like know about the replacement asset field functionality on the Basic asset information page. If we were to replace 100 existing assets with new ones without depreciating

A) Create 100 new assets and dispose the old 100 assets. The new assets will not depreciate as they are just a replacement

if we populate the replacement asset id field, is there any process to be run and functionality associated with is what we would like to know
