M5000 Cold Boot Procedure

We have an M5000 that we have never powered off.  When we first got this M5000 a consultant helped us get it installed.  I noticed when he powered it on that the cold boot sequence was different than what I was used to on our V880.  We did not get the familiar ok prompt, so I ask him what he did and I wrote down the following.  I would appreciate any input as to the validity of these cold boot instructions.  If I am missing something I would sure like to know before a cold restart is necessary.
