Off-set Schedule Ship Date to allow for warehouse/shipping lead time

Can someone remind me of the set up for this? I would like to build into my scheduling a time difference between request date and scheduled ship date, to represent warehouse and shipping lead time. Logic says it should be part of freight carrier set up, but i can't put my finger on how. feel sure I've done this in the past, but been a while since i needed to use it.
