Count() and MOD() functions in eText Template

Hello All,
I am using COUNT() and MOD() functions in my eText template to generate a flat file for Check Printing. We are on Oracle EBS 12.1.3

This works fine when I run the eText Template with the XML data file from Template viewer but does not work when the template is uploaded to r12.

I am totally stuck because of this and perplexed.

Would any  of you experts help me out with the possible cause and the fix ? I am clueless.
