"Pick Slip Report" What is it and should we have it running always?

Hi Guys

Environment: Oracle EBS 12.0.4

We are using Order management 100% for our trading sectors, usually as a POS system itself. We are using "Pick Selection List Generation - SRS" in order to faciliate Sales order bookings. We are experiencing extremely slow performance when "Pick Slip Report" is running (which is called by SRS program)

Following certain recommendations, we removed this report from Shipping documents entries and evaluated the Sales Order booking over TEST instances(s). We noticed that there was a significant performance gain when this report is not running.

Now our question is,

Running "Pick Slip Report" report is mandatory? In our case, without running this report also booking the sales order seems working perfect. Lines are getting shipped and closed as expected.
