harvest processes hang

Hi there,when submitting 74000 files on a harvest batch job, (running on a V890 server), the processes hang after 55 264 files were checked out. These files are checked out in batches of 1000 each. The process does not always hang after the same amount of files were checked out.

Information is drawn from the blob area which is in the oracle database. Many select commands are issued during the processing.

Can somebody help with a few pointers to check / verify the problem?
