How to Send/Trigger Custom created Notifications using Events

We can create custom notifications and configure for which object and the details on the information on the notification.

But how do we send/trigger or configure them to the events framework?

We have a tab where used in the custom/regular noticfication but its always empty.

Also as per the document it says there are three handler types, but in the Java Client in event handlers, handler type drop down has only 2 java or script.

Notification is missing.

Please help.
