Projects Search Page - CLOSED Projects not showing up when we search by Project Number

Hi,In the Projects Search Page(OAF Self Service Page), In the Advanced Search area. When I query a Project(P1) whose PROJECT_SYSTEM_STATUS_CODE is CLOSED by just Giving a Project Number in the search fields, it doesn't fetch any data in the Search.

But when I search the same Project Number(P1) and Project Status together, then it fetches data for that Project(P1) that is in CLOSED status. 

Ex: Project- P1, PROJECT_SYSTEM_STATUS_CODE is CLOSED

Is it intended functionality that in Search Page, if a Project Status is not selected exclusively, then it searches for All Projects, Except those with a status code(PROJECT_SYSTEM_STATUS_CODE) CLOSED? Is this documented in any of the user guides/implementation guides?
