Oracle 11gR2 Database Install on Windows Virtual Machine (XP w/service pack 3) on Windows 7 64 bit

Since I plan to install OBIEE 11g on my virtual machine, I would rather have this latest version of the database.  I had defined my Oracle hostname environment variable with my computer name, installed a loopback adpater and configured it with a static IP (added the entry as the first line in the host file with my alis computer name and the IP defined in the loopback adapter) installed Java jdk 1.6 update 27 before installation.  I have allocated 2.5 GB to this virtual machine of the 4 I currently have.

However, the install kept hanging at 85% first (when creating clone database) and then 100% later (when attempting to start configuration assitant)  I have no idea what's causing this as I have not encountered errors like this before even when installing on VMware and allocating the same amount of memory.  The install log told me the first time my username/password were incorrect.  The install log the second time just had an entry of it trying to start the configuration assistant.

Howdy, Stranger!
