Using 3rd party application for manual printing of Checks in EBS R12

Has anyone been successful using a 3rd party application to manually print checks in EBS R12?

We are on 11i (11.5.10) and using formscape to manually print checks with EBS payables module. Currently using customized program with enbedded xml.

I need to figure out a solution for R12 using the same method or a suitable work-a-round, as we are upgrading to EBS R12 (12.1.3).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
