Auto Accounting vs Subledger Accounting in R12

I am getting ready to start a new 12.1.2 Project Costing and Billing implementation.

What is the recommended setup for Auto Accounting vs Subledger Accouning?  Do I configure AA the way I always have or do I use AA to create "default" accounts and use Subledger Accounting to create the "detailed" accounts I want?

Any help is appreciated.
