Can we edit contact information from the account detail page?

When im in the Account I can see Contacts linked to this account.  Users CAN edit contact information by drilling into the Contact.  However what I want to be able to do is edit the contact information from the Account Detail page when clicking on the edit button.  When we click on edit for contacts all fields are greyed out.  Also the only fields that display when clicking on edit for contacts within the account detail screen are last/first name, job title, contact role, work phone #, and email which is fine.  How can we allow users to edit contacts from the
