Creating Manual Journals in Sub Ledger

In order to correct an issue, we wish to create manual journal in cost management and let it flow to GL.  While testing is successful, we wish to know if some one could clarity - the purpose of 'ACCOUNTING CLASS' field which we need to populate from the List of Values while creating each manual journal line

Any feedback from the members will be greatly appreciated.
