Miscellaneous Shipment(XML-EDI 940 IN) feature in R12? Creating a shipment trx without a sales orde

Hi

I read earlier somewhere that you can create misc shipment transactions in R12 using XML. Its basically as good as an EDI 940 IN document but in XML. Has anyone had any experience with this? Do you know how we could proceed on that? In other words I want to create a shipment transaction without a sales order.
