BI Publisher Enterprise - Interactive Templates - Hyperlink

Using the new Templates Editor (not RTF, the native interactive method) in BIP Enterprise 11g, is it possible to have a hyperlink (text item) that does not open in a new window?  I have not been able to find a way to stop it from opening a link in a different window.  Note that the "Open Links in New Window" report option does not seem to take effect.
