Modifications to the General Ledger Journals form.
1.0 – Overview
This request is to reduce the number of locks which cause conflicts with the concurrent programs Program – Automatic Posting and Posting. The reduction in these locks will reduce admin time required by both the General Ledger team and the DBA staff. To lower the number of locks the below proposal suggests that a form prompt be removed when a User clicks the Post button within the Journals form.
1.1 – Current Business Process
Within any GL responsibility which has access to the Journals form with posting capabilities (level 20, 30, 40, 50, 80, and 90 access), User will create a journal entry in that form and click the Post button. The following action checks if the records have been saved – if not, a prompt appears stating that the action requires the record to be saved and asks to continue:
