Re-Organizations Alternative Method

Hi,

Is there any other way to perform Re-organization in oracle other than using Mass Updates on Positions? We are presently undergoing re-organization and it is estimated to be a 17 days of work for a person. But I would like to know if this can be performed in any other way. I would also like to know if this is something which can be achieved through API's?

Please let me know your thoughts.
