Which language is best for custom FMs? C or Java?

Hi

We are planning to generate reports from BRM using Jasper(which supports Java).

1. Which programming language will be best to to write custom FMs: C or Java? How to interface with Jasper while using C or Java to develop custom FMs.

2. If we want to generate rating statistics from pipeline side,which is the effective way to do it. Can we use Jasper here?

Has anyone implemented such a solution. Please provide your comments.
