How to monitor the OEM itself?

Hi,
I would like to request some documentations or descriptionss how is it possible to monitor the OEM itself? I mean we are using OEM to monitor production and dev/test targets (DB, listener, ASM, host, etc.) but how can we work out the monitoring of the OMS? So what if OMS goes down, how we will get notification about it?

Version numbers:
Agent Version     : 11.1.0.1.0
OMS Version       : 11.1.0.1.0 (on Linux)
