How do I use PCL commands when printing

I'd like to print ascii-text files on my Solaris 10 8/11 T3-1 server to a variety of networked HP printers.  On previous Solaris systems I used the now-broken HPNPL system for printing without any trouble.  I'd like to be able to use parameters to control basic functions, such as change the orientation to landscape and draw the paper from a particular tray.  Sounds simple enough, but I'm clearly making it harder than it needs to be.  I've set up a printer like:

lpadmin -p itslaser \

-D "HP4200n in IT Services" \

-v /dev/null -m netstandard_foomatic \

-n /usr/lib/lp/model/ppd/system/foomatic/HP/HP-LaserJet_4200-hpijs.ppd.gz \

Howdy, Stranger!
