Net Weight In shipping transaction form

Hi experts

I have set the physical attributes for an item at Master and Org level as 10 and Uom as each. Now i create a Sales Order for the same item with same Uom. After booking and pick releasing it when i go to the shiiping transaction form I see that  Net weight is 0. I'm not using the pack options. My understanding the net weight should default from the item master. Any Idea why the net weight is not showing any values .
