How is support cost calculated in a virtualised enviroment.

Dear all

Am I right in thinking that to run Solaris you need a support contract in place ?

If so is this costed per installation or per core ?

If its per core (as is Oracles licencing for its database products) then does this effect virtualised instances of Solaris.

Effectively... if you run Oracle DB virtualised on anything but OVM, Oracle make you pay per core of the Host, is this the same when it comes to running Solaris Virtulaised ??
