Upgrade Oracle 10gR2 RAC infrastructure to Oracle 11gR2

Hi Guru's,
I do have an Oracle RAC 10gR2 production infrastructure with multiple database on ASM. I had gone through the upgrade documents but i am still unclear on the below.

1. Is it possible to upgrade only Oracle clusterware only?
2. If I will upgrade ASM instance to 11g it is possible to keep oracle 10g database on oracle 11g ASM?

by doing this i will be able to upgrade databases one by one to 11g.

Please help me figure out this.
