Does the SD/OD process work with non-stock items that are in P4101N?

Hello Distribution Community,

Does the SD/OD process work with non-stock items that are found in the non-stock item master program P4101N? We are trying to avoid creating stock item records for items that we will never keep on hand just so that the SD/OD process will work.
